Ok so we've been in Ireland for more than 3 weeks now; 3 weeks and 3 days.....not that I'm counting.
We are still looking for jobs. I just want something easy until Christmas. So I saw this job for a Call Centre answering calls from people asking questions about their bills and stuff and thought that wouldn't be so bad for 2 months. So I went into the Recruitment agency that does the hiring and of course I had to fill out all these forms for them and they even took a picture of me. Then a woman came out and said she had a really good job for me working for Apple Computers keeping track of their stock and being involved with all their lorry drivers and making statements and spreadsheets. It's called Logistics Agent or something like that. To be honest I didn't really understand what the job involved and I thought it was a little bit too much for a 2 month temporary job. I just kept thinking: What happened to the Call Centre Job? She then wanted me to do all these tests; typing, Word and Excel tests. I just wanted to get the hell out of there as I haven't done any typing for more than a year and my Excel skills aren't that great. I did the test though and she is going to contact me today but after she sees the outcome of the test she might not call at all. I don't think I did too well.
Last Thursday I had an interview in a clothes store and she said she was going to contact me as soon as possible, probably on the Friday but I never heard anything. She migh still call today but probably just to say "Sorry you didn't get the job". Helga has told me that it is very common for people to sound very possitive and say "oh yeh we will definately call you" and then you never hear anything.
We'll see what happens today and this week but if we don't find anything soon we are out of here.
Most people that we meet have said: " What the f**k are you doing here. Get the hell out here, as soon as you can....RUN". I mean, it's not that bad but people here think it's really strange for someone coming from Australia for example and living here. Alot of Irish still think of Australia and America as the dream countries.
Well, talk to you soon again.
