Ok so now the job hunts starts. I went for an interview this morning in a smallish clothes store. It went allright but I'm still not sure if I get it as I'm not sure if the manager really thinks I'll stay in Ireland long enough..... She said she'll try to contact me tomorrow. She also definately wants someone for Christmas so I, of course, lied and said I'd definately be here over Christmas. Not sure if I get the job what excuse I'll come up with to get out of that one....ehhhmmm.

I'm going to some recruitment agencies today to see about temporary work. That would be ideal now when Christmas is coming so soon. We'll see what comes out of that one.

Paddy is doing a Safe Pass course on the weekend. It's Health and Safety course that you have to do if working on construction sites. It's a one day course and costs 95 Euros. I'm telling him that I'm sure he can start looking for jobs even though he doesnt have the pass yet but I think he's sort of hoping that I'll just get a job good enough to support both of. I don't think that will be happening. The shopkeeper job I went for only pays 7.65 Euros an hour for the first 4 weeks and then goes upto 8 Euros. That is 604kr (AUS$ 12) and then 632kr (AUS$13). That not very good compared to cost of living in this country. Sure it's cheaper than Iceland but it's still not cheap. Rent is expensive and going out to eat is a bit expensive too. Drinking is not that expensive but that obviously goes on HOW MUCH you drink doesnt it.

So you are probably all wondering what we think of Ireland and do we think we are going to stay on. Personally I would say NO we are not staying on. I like Ireland as a country you'd go on a holiday as it's beautiful and friendly but it's a big downgrading from Iceland. Everytime you want to have a shower you have to press a button on the wall to start the hot water. If you want to use the hotplates you need to start another button for electricity and so on. The the rubbish. It seems like we don't have a bin. I think we need to pay some kind of a service charge to get a bin. So we just take a little bit of rubbish out every now and then and put it in the rubbish bins on the streets.
You probably think I hate this place but I dont. Even though I can't see us living here in the future it's a great experience and gives us time to think, in a neutral place, where we are going to settle next; Australia or Iceland. It's a very hard decision especially as the countries are very far from each other. We'll see what we'll come up with.....hopefully soon.

I'll keep you updated what going on. I better go now and start talking to some agencies about work. Someone needs to start earning some money :)
